Nikon provides computer utilities for importing, viewing, organizing, and editing photos. These free tools are available as a set and can be downloaded from the Nikon website.
Follow these instructions:
Go to the Nikon USA website.
Scroll all the way down and find and click Software & Firmware Updates
On the new page scroll down and look in the right sidebar for ViewNX-i & Capture NX-D

On the download page select your operating system.
Scroll down and click the checkbox to accept the terms and Conditions. Click in the box and select USA and Latin America.
Click Download.
There will be a notification in the lower left of the browser window showing the progress of the download. When the download is complete there will be a Open file link.
Click Open file in the lower left of the browser to install the apps.
On a Windows machine you will be asked to permit the install.
When the installation gets underway you will be asked several items. First the language to be used. Click Install when requested.
Click the “I accept …” button, then Next each time when requested. The installation will take some time.
You will be asked about data collection. Either answer is acceptable. Again click Next.
Finally there will be a notice that “The installation is complete.”
Click OK.
Congratulations! You now have the Nikon utilities installed. There will be shortcut icons on your desktop for starting the apps.
